ELECTRONIC MALLET PERCUSSION CONTROLLER
DIY Electronic Mallet Percussion Instrument
This is an electronic mallet instrument percussion instrument that I built using homemade force-sensing resistors and a Teensy microcontroller. My two main goals with this build are to have a final product that is highly sensitive to perform with, customizable response, and as low cost as possible. The commercial electronic mallet instruments are usually $1000 or much more, which is prohibitively expensive for many people. Right now my build is around a tenth of that cost, plus time of course. I'm not interested in selling this instrument, but if you're interested I'd love give you information to help you build one! Just send me message using the contact form. The controller has a three octave range, but is designed to be easily expanded to five octaves to accommodate the full range of a marimba. More pictures and details will be posted soon.
